What's on my mind?

Well, at our school, a philosophy club has been started... and the usual questions will be asked and pondered I guess: "How do you think the world was created?" "Why do you think blahblahblah is the way it is?"

It's just sad that one of my friends (who hasn't given her life to the Lord) is wanting to join it.

If people would just take some time to read the bible, and love the Lord, they would see that all of creation was created and made by God, and everything has a purpose. A "big bang" did not create the world into being, the Lord did.

Yeah... scientists can be QUITE frustrating at times!

That was just what was on my mind lately!

Hey Jack, what are the latest awesome scriptures you've found lately that really hit home?? I like seeing what you find and how you think about them! :)

whats on my mind?? well first of all, that was a pretty sweet journal format.. but i feel like im far too focused on whats gonna get me far in this life instead of my future life with God. every free moment i have leads to my mind wandering to what decisions ill make. especially regarding college & college prep. i need to let God guide my path. i make it such a battle when it is really quite petty. i need to turn to God now more than ever.. pray for me. God bless you all :)

I am starting to work with my music ministry at church, basically my job is to come up with new worship music for the church. (pick out new songs to sing during the worship services) Unfortuneately my music minister isn't being very helpful. I mean I love doing it and it is fun, but it is kind of hard to do when you only have sermon titles and scripture passages to go on, and not really any other help. He gave me six months worth of sermon titles and scripture passages. So pray for sanity and patience and wisdom on what needs to be done. BTW I let him borrow both of you guy's cds about 2 months ago and I still havn't gotten them back. When I had my first meeting with him he apparently has been using them to work out during the day when he isn't working on music. HAHAHA! Awesome! Thanks guys for all you do,and sorry this is so long.

so sweet! and I am glad to know, that I am not the only with an overly crowded ( random writing everywhere) songwriting notebook, Jack, even if that was your journal, thats what my songwriting notebook looks like at the moment...I should really organize it lol..drawings and writing fill the pages!

Hey!
Yes, He has changed my life! No doubt about that! It's getting better and better :D That song sounds amazing already! Umm what's on my mind? School.. I think I worry to much about school and I want to learn to trust God coz I see everytime that he'll make things alright. So I should just trust him :) I'm just kinda in trouble coz I have to read a book and make an essay about it in one day coz today I don't have time coz I have to make a presentation.. So that's keeping my pretty busy and it's kinda distracting me from God.. Talked about that at my youth group and it was very inspiring! Also, God is on my mind coz I've been reading my Bible a lot lately. I read the old testament in a few months and it's really awesome :) I almost finished it and the new testament must be great too! Lots is on my mind actually.. I also think 'Take All Of Me' by Hillsong United is really beautiful! Anyways.. I hope to see you in Holland someday =) Maybe at the flevo festival in August? :D

God bless you =)

there are many things to think about in high school: what i want to do with my life, what i want to major in, how can i pass sp u.s. history. i just need prayer that i can get through this semester, without failing ap. here's a hint: don't take college level classes in the tenth grade. i want to get closer to God, but it's just hard, when everything goes wrong, and then i feel alone.

i love your journal things, they're cool :)
God bless.

life has been pretty gross. school has been working me so hard, it's not even funny, and church now seems almost burdensome. I want to be able to love our Lord, and I don't think I've been doing a very good job at it lately. Pray for me, please?

I love your post thing, and I think it's really cool that you guys take the time to respond to our comments! Right now I'm eating tuna hotdish. It's amazing! I'm just thinking about next year, and how I can become closer to God. I'm also trying to figure out how to help others find Him. I have a lot of friends and family who haven't accepted Him and His Son, or they have drifted from him. I want so badly for them, and myself, to completely give our lives over to Him. Today is Ash Wednesday, so I have to keep reminding myself to make sure I'm not eating meat. I usually mess up though. :) I'm going to go watch some t.v. (everyone needs lazy time) I will pray for you all everyday! Can't wait for your new album to come out! God bless you always!!

What's on my mind is the abundance of wealth that we have in the West. Even during this economic crisis, we have far more than most of those in the East (or maybe even around the corner from our homes). I pray God will move His children to be content in Him, causing us to be willing to do without some comforts so that a homeless man in New York or Calcutta may have shelter, so that a child in Uganda might eat one meal tomorrow.

This is awesome and i couldn't agree more. John 13:34-35 sums it up! Btw, i love this blog. It always gets me thinking and it is always encouraging to see a band out there that truly loves God and makes beautiful music for that reason! Thank you! God Bless ya'll..

I'm personally amazed at the blogs you guys write and even more at the way you live your lives. I just have a question: How do you manage to live every single day with such a passion for God and for His people? I see the way you guys live your lives and how you all are constantly praising God and thinking about Him. I can't seem to find this same passion for living everyday even though I consider myself a believer and a follower of Jesus. I feel like you guys have something I don't have. I want so much to be able to live a truly passionate life for God and to encourage others to do so.

Rachel... thanks for the kind words. We're by no means perfect, but we try to remind ourselves of God's love continually. We can't really live a victorious life if we're always focused on our failures or "not sinning".

I feel a much better approach is to let the Holy Spirit (God with us and inside us) invade even the smallest places. Even the ordinary or boring moments of our lives are places where God can speak to us.

He has an amazing plan for your life. Oh... also, just ask God to pour out his presence over you. I can't live without it! I need His water to wash over me everyday. The refreshing presence of God.

Praying for you. -jack

I like whats on your mind.

My mind is on the poor, too. James 1:27 has been the cornerstone of my past week and evaluating my plans for the summer. We'll see what He's got for me next week!
