Top Secret

Ok... so I don't know if I'm supposed to be talking about this or not. These things are usually kept top secret and you have to have CIA credentials to be "in the know"... well forget all that for now. I'm giving everybody some CIA credentials! YAY! Imagine you have bio technology... cool finger print access to the confidential Leeland music chronicles... of the world. Ok enough of that.

Leeland and I came up to Nashville for a day to do some writing for the next record (release date undetermined). We finished a song that turned out really really good! We have a million ideas and are trying to fix them all up real nice for all of ya'll. The whole process of making a record is pretty long so let's say we're in the creative dreaming stage right now... and we're so excited!

It's probably way too early to be mentioning all of this, but I had to let you know. Be praying for us as we seek God for the songs. You guys know how we are... and we don't just want to throw a bunch of tunes together for the sake of making a record. And I promise as long as our band is around that will never happen! We commit to giving massive amounts of time, energy, sweat, prayer, tears, and effort into making this music. Because God is worth all of it. He's amazing.

I can't say much right now (remember...this is all top secret of course) but It's going to be a big amazing record that glorifies God. Woooo hooooo!!!

The video below is Lee writing a random idea that might get lost into space or might materialize into an actual song one day... who knows. Any one want to come up with some shnazzy name for it?

Me and Lee are at our gate about to board the plane. He's saying hello to everyone right now as he's drinking his hot chocolate from Starbucks. Now it's off to meet up with the guys and we're flying to Newfoundland... it's going to be way too cold for the Texas boys.

love.

umm..as far as coming up with a "Shazzy name" i think thats what jack had said for that song leeland was messing with..it sounded like a wall of just different chords like a midst of chord progressions so i thought "in the midst of things God still does his thing in our lives" and it goes with the style of the song..idk just an idea. let me know what you think

If you guys do end up using that song that Leeland was playing on the piano for your album, the words "God, I'm so lost in You" popped in my head.

But I really can't wait for the band's new album. You guys are absolutely amazing. I saw you guys at Desperation '08, Michigan and it was absolutely phenominal.

Keep pressing into Him and making amazing music!

You should put "Poetry In Motion" and "Stand Still" on this one! I found them on Youtube, but it said that they were only available in Japan. My favorite is "Stand Still".

Love the intro to this blog! Bahahaha

The song Leeland was working on, I thought I heard him say "God in you" that sounds like a promising name for a song, what do you think?

Anyhoo, best of luck with many sympathetic pieces of bacon, and my prayers.

Love you guys!

Rock on, brothers! My first visit here. I have just played the Opposite Way video from YouTube at my desk at work and started balling my eyes out. Had to find more Leeland! ...after getting more God! :)

Love YOU!

I like secrets! :)

I won't tell anyone ;). I couldn't really hear what Leeland was singing, but I have always liked shorter titles. Like one or two words. Maybe post the words he was playing around with so we can use our great minds (haha!) to come up with a perspective title.

Hope you guys don't get too cold on your trip! Praying God will put more songs on your heart as you all continue this ministry! And, praying you keep safe!

God Bless!

Sarah

You guys should do a remake of U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name". That would be totally awesome!

The Leeland Blog said...

hey guys and gals... I don't think Leeland is actually saying anything. He usually just mumbles incoherent words when he's working on the melody and chords. haha... sorry! -jack

I feel so hardcore that I now know CIA secrets. Makes me want to have my own theme music and a gun... And go to fancy hotels in the Himalayas tracking down the evil scientists bent on creating a virus that will distroy the world...
And now for something completely different.
The song sounds nice. I hope to hear it on the next record! :)
God bless and have a wonderful weekend.

Wow! A new record? Are you serious?? Hey, Leeland, that little thing you wrote sounds pretty good so far. Thanks for sharing it with us and not being embarrassed or anything (well, you guys are professionals anyways; you've got nothing to be scared of!). It would be so cool to hear it on the album. As for names, well, it depends on what the song is about...

Have fun!

Thanks so much guys & thanks for coming to Australia during Hillsong and doing all your touring - I think it blessed a lot of people so keep doing what you do!! Love Selma

Hey guys! I can't wait for hear the new album. I have one idea for this song: "secret place". Thanks so much guys for all.God bless you all.

Faith Moves Mountains said...

The tune made me think of the transition (mentally and spiritually) from pain to glorifying the joy and peace that can only be found in Christ.
When you can step outside your box- what you are going through, and look at everything from the outside. Makes you aware of the "crosses others bear" as well.
A great reminder that His joy is our strength and we can do ALL things thru our Lord, Jesus Christ!
But it's all worth it in the end!!
For to live is Christ and to die is gain.
=) So on that note, I'm gonna go with "Crosses we bear" =)

Love the piano part! What were the lyrics? it was so muffled. "shnazzy names"... well jack, ill leave that up to you guys, cause you're the only one that can understand that. When it comes out on a record, let us know what the title is so we can go listen to the lyrics. Well, love you guys!!! Can't wait to see you at ROCK THE SOUND! <3
