Taxi cab driver meets Jesus!

Hey everyone I hope your all doing well and following Jesus. Well, I wanted to encourage you with something pretty cool that happened today. Me and Matt got a ride from a taxi to "Barnes and Noble" and on our way back we got to talk to our cab driver Dave. I told him about our band and that we were leaving today for Africa to be apart of a christian youth conference there. I told him about our faith and what God was doing in our lives. Anyways when we stopped at the hotel to get out he just started pouring out his heart about his belief in God. He told me that he grew up in a religion that had way to many rules and at a young age it didn't feel right. He told me that he was always drawn to the story of Jesus and accepting his forgiveness of sins. So I explained what it meant to follow Jesus and to give your whole life away to HIm. I asked him if he wanted to pray with me and ask God into his heart. So we prayed together and he got saved!! It was awesome! David is a cool dude, I cant wait to hear about what God is going to do in His life and the lives of his family!

So be encouraged and stay plugged in to Jesus, you never know who you'll meet that needs to feel the Love of God. Love God and love people! What's God doing in your life today? Big or small please share!

What an awesome reminder that we need to be witnessing to EVERYONE we meet. Christians tend to turn on the Jesus light switch during church, mission trips, or conferences; however, it's important to glorify God every second because we never know when He will give us people to love on!

Thanks for sharing this, it was very encouraging. :)

Leeland, that is too cool... sometimes It seems hard to share my faith vocally, face-to-face, but wow, that story is very encouraging! I appreciate that alot about you guys - you are sharing your faith off stage (actually living what you say to do on stage).

God is so amazing and so faithful. I'm seeing that He always, always comes through and He never ever changes no matter what is going on around us - He's so amazing =)

That is an amazing thing you did Leeland! Everyone needs to feel the Truth, Love and Light of Jesus Christ! A few weeks ago God called me to volunteer at Vacation Bible School for the first time and I was able to pray with 15 wonderful children who wanted to know Jesus! What a blessing! Through these children I also learned more of how important it is to reach out to others and listen with an open, loving and attentive heart!

Thanks for sharing! You guys are a neat band for keeping us fans updated almost day to day with your adventures! I love it! Hope you guys have a good day! I'm praying for your safe travels!

Fantabulous story, boys! So proud that you let the Holy Spirit work so well through you!!
God has been doing amazing trasitions in my life lately. From planning a wedding to bring in a new pastor to bring back some old friends who have fallen away, sometimes the words that scare us the most ("change") can be the times when God shines. Your blog entry is a true example of that. Blessings from your neighbor in La Porte.

Well I say God helps me with my songs. I write lots of Christian songs like you guys and today I wrote a song about how God died on the cross for me and my sins. Then I sang the song to a kid at my band camp who doesn't believe in God and I helped him. He now believes and lives for God just because of that one song I wrote. I felt like God was watching over me and that kid that day. I really helped him.

Woah! That's SUPER!
What God's been doing in my life lately is really awesome!
My sisters, a friend, and I recently started a band and we play in Local coffee shops around our small town in Alaska and when we start to sing songs we've written about God or worship songs.. people stop their conversations and begin to listen. God's just so amazing and he's begining to open up doors for us we've never imagined.
Just wanted to say that you guys are a BIG encouragment to me... So thanks!

That is awesome Leeland! I love how God gives us so many opportunities to share about Him.

I recently started a new job, and it has been amazing how many times God has provided for me to speak about my faith in just a short time. Just last night I was able to talk to a co worker about what it means to really be a Christian, and that it is all about the relationship with God, not how many times you go to church in a week. She shared with me her concerns about her teenage daughter and all the influences she has in her life, and she confessed she wanted to start going to church again. It amazed me when she said that being a Christian was pointless unless you live out your faith. She said she could see a huge difference in me, and this was someone I met for the first time last night. God has put on my heart to pray for her and her daughter, and I hope I can continue to share with her.

It just reminded me that even people you just meet, or see in passing, are noticing how you act. We are representing Christ in everything we do, good or bad. I am so blessed to have a new job that God has provided for me, and I am beginning to see why He wanted me there in the first place! :)

God Bless you guys, and thank you for sharing your lives, and encouraging us in the Lord!

hey guys thanks for the encouraging post! it's awesome to see the Lord use you guys all over the globe.

recently my wife and i joined wycliffe bible translators and have begun the process of building our support team and getting training. music is a huge part of our life and one area of training we'll get is working with the people's indigenous music and other art forms to help them incorporate those into worship. we're so excited and humbled to be called by our God for this work at this time. He is certainly good. looking forward to hearing more from you guys. God bless...

This story is wonderful. At this point in my life I felt like nothing I do is every good enough. I had acepted God as my savior untill one night in youth group. Being a pastors kid everyone excpects you to know when you got saved and all, but really i did not. My youth leader asked me to share my testimony. (never done before) It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. But right there Jordan (youth leader) says to me "Kristen do you accept Gods plan for your life and do will you follow him" I replyed with a big YES! Today I read the bible for the 23 day since then. I think people take the bible for granate alot of times. Everything we need is right there. Musical inspiration, spirutaul guidence, and his love. So today will be my 24 day and counting! Maybey it's not as exciting as yall's story!

God definitely set Dave up big time. It's great to know that God is using Leeland to minister not only through music but everyday life.

As for today, God revealed to me his will for my life wholeheartedly. I have a feeling that China is about to see the Lord in action! Smuggling bibles into the nation wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but any plan of God's is a plan a mine. :) You guys are in my prayers!

Stay strong!
